A Guide to Apprenticeships across the devolved nations

AELP

The introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy has encouraged a greater focus on skills with employers keen to capitalise on opportunities arising from the new system.

Although the Levy is UK wide, each of the four home nations continue to have different administrative arrangements for apprenticeships funding, making it a complex landscape for employers to navigate. With different regulatory bodies, funding agencies and qualification structures it can be challenging to keep up to date with these changes.

Quite quickly it became apparent that there was a need to consolidate all of this information, making it easy for employers to understand the key differences in Apprenticeships across the UK, especially those operating cross-border.

Responding to feedback from AELP members, SQA has developed a Guide to Apprenticeships across the UK to help employers and training organisations better understand the differences in apprenticeship policy across the UK nations. It also contains useful links to further reading and information.
