Titus Edge, Headmaster of the highly acclaimed boarding school, Gordonstoun, based in Elgin, Scotland, visited Fareham College recently to observe and learn about the business of running this graded Outstanding by Ofsted and TES UK College of the Year, at first hand.

Gordonstoun School, with alumni including Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Prince Andrew, as well as trailblazers of industry, commerce and culture offers a very different type of education to that found in FE colleges in the UK.

Nigel Duncan, Principal and Chief Executive of Fareham College, commented:

“although our two organisations are geographically hundreds of miles apart, our curricula, philosophy and cultures are not.

We share a great deal in terms of the focus we attribute to developing the individual to achieve worthwhile careers and the importance placed on personal and professional behaviour. Gordonstoun’s motto is,  ‘There is more in you,’ which mirrors our commitment at Fareham College to get the best out of every student that studies here.

We learned a great deal from each other during Titus Edge’s  visit and we look forward to sharing best practice with Gordonstoun in the future”.

Titus Edge, Headmaster of Gordonstoun School added:

“I thoroughly enjoyed my day at Fareham College and a big thank you to Nigel Duncan and his team for sharing with me their knowledge and experience. I have left with a clear understanding of how they have achieved their impressive success for themselves and their students.”
