Capita expands ICT managed service to four more academies in the Ormiston Academies Trust

Capita IT and Networks has expanded its ICT service to Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT) by delivering its managed service provision to four more OAT academies.

The extension builds on Capita’s a four-year ICT Services Framework contract with OAT, which offers the Trust’s academies the option to procure a range of cost-effective ICT services.

The four new academies benefitting from the managed service are:

  • Ormiston Horizon Academy, Stoke-On-Trent.
  • Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, Stoke-On-Trent.
  • Ormiston Maritime Academy, Grimsby.
  • Packmoor Ormiston Academy, Stoke-On-Trent.

Under the expanded service, Capita is managing all of the ICT infrastructure in Ormiston Horizon Academy, Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy and Ormiston Maritime Academy, from 24/7 remote management and monitoring of their network to the provision of a telephone and online service desk, service management, and support by on-site Capita ICT technicians.

Packmoor Ormiston Academy is a primary academy in the Trust group and is benefitting from a flexible managed service to support the school’s ICT infrastructure, includeing an onsite ICT engineer one day per week and access to Capita’s senior engineers for support in the delivery of IT projects as required.

James Miller, national director of estates and technology, OAT, said:

“Capita already offers all academies across OAT a cost-effective, reliable and flexible ICT service via the framework contract.

”Extending Capita’s provision to ICT managed services in a further four of our academies adds value to the framework. Itis a testament to the education technology capabilities Capita holds and their understanding of OAT and our academies.

“The service go-live was seamless, delivered in time for the new academic year. The students and staff in each academy are already experiencing the benefits of the ICT service which will greatly impact positively on their teaching and learning outcomes.”

Ed Brown, managing director, Capita Managed IT Solutions, said:

“I am delighted to welcome four more OAT academies as managed service customers and strengthen our partnership with OAT.

“We aim to deliver ICT services to our education customers that meet their exact needs, enabling teachers to deliver lessons and students to learn with no disruption or barriers to accessing resources, and we look forward to ensuring this continues to take place across OAT academies.”

OAT has a head office based in Birmingham and comprises of 37 primary and secondary academies spread across the UK, with regional hubs in the north, south, east and west.
