A 17 year old Games Art & Animation student is designing animated infographics for a charity.

Myra Lochun’s aunt is trustee of a small, London-based charity called Every Parent & Child. One day, impressed by her teenage niece’s animation project work, she asked if Myra could do some voluntary work for the charity.

Myra jumped at the chance to help the charity and also get some work experience and so she went to see the charity’s CEO, Jaspal Dhani. She took a brief from him and found out some background about the charity before starting work.

The Barking & Dagenham College student is producing 3 animated infographics for them which the charity will be able to use on its website and social media. The charity offers services to children, young people and their families to support with advising on accessing educational provision for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, applying for school places, young people’s mental health and wellbeing and skills and confidence building.

Myra who lives in Romford, says: “I’m in the second year of my Games Art & Animation BTEC at Barking & Dagenham College and I love the course.

“Recently my parents moved to Crewe in Cheshire, but this course is so different to anything I could do up there, that I’ve stayed down here to finish it and am currently living with my auntie and uncle.

I’ve really been enjoying doing the animation work for the charity in addition to my studies; it’s been great work experience for me.”
