New Basketball Coach for @Haringey6thForm

Haringey Hawkes Basketball Coach, Franck Batimba, Head Coach of the Basketball academy and Academic Support Mentor

Haringey Sixth Form College is delighted to announce the appointment of vastly experienced Haringey Hawkes Basketball Coach, Franck Batimba as Head Coach of the Basketball academy and Academic Support Mentor, ahead of the 2018-19 academic year.

Franck is the Head Coach of recently crowned National Champions Haringey Hawkes.  He has just led the Under 16 squad to the National Championships winning the competition beating Manchester Magic 71-55 in the play-off finals at the beginning of May.

Announcing the appointment, Principal of Haringey Sixth Form College spoke of how the college arrived at their decision, saying: “We have worked hard over the last two years establishing the college as the go to place for an outstanding education. Learner progress made here is better than at any other college in North London and we are constantly working on ways in which we can improve the learner experience at the college.

He added, “The appointment of Franck is an endorsement of our core values.  These are centered around achieving excellence in everything we do, and this also reflects our vision of continuing to strive forward, plus being a strong foundation in the community.  I am confident that with Franck as part of #TeamHaringey6 this will help to take our brand forward.  He has already demonstrated to me his enthusiasm, commitment and belief in our promising future.”

Franck commented, “I have worked in Haringey for a number of years. I have been aware of the Haringey Sixth Form for a long time. But I must say since meeting with Russ, the Principal, Vice Principal Lisa Westray and seeing the progress that has been made in the last two years and the vision for the future, joining the Sixth Form College team was a no brainer.

The staff work very hard to ensure the students achieve their potential, and their recent results clearly support this. I look forward to joining this amazing college. A number of players from the under 16 team that was just crowned National Champions are enrolling at the college. I want them to benefit from the great education as well as me coaching them at an Elite Level. I love to empower young people and I am confident I will be able to do just that at Haringey Sixth Form College.”

Everyone connected to the college knows that Haringey Sixth Form College is already somewhere very special and the appointment of people like Franck to the team can only help lead the college to the next level, enhancing even further the learner experience.

Russ concluded, “We look for people first here at Haringey Sixth, people who display a passion and desire for the role, whatever that role is at the college. Franck has impressed us all and once he emerged as a candidate we knew we had the right person, and the right role for this amazing college. Franck is passionate about working within the wider set-up at the college and in the community.  I see him as being influential way beyond the confines of the basketball court”.

If you are also inspired by Franck’s signing you can still apply to the college. We have new applicant/H6 experience days and further interview days planned after the GCSE exams, so what are you waiting for?  Apply now and we will send you further details.
