Derby College Group has appointed Liza-Jo Guyatt as Executive Head of the Roundhouse technical skills college in the city’s Pride Park and of Ilkeston College.

Ms Guyatt joins Derby College Group from Walsall Adult and Community College where she was Vice Principal.

She was formerly Head of Faculty Vocational Skills at New College Nottingham having previously been Head of Learning at Burton & South Derbyshire College.

Ms Guyatt will head up a wide-ranging technical skills curriculum at the Roundhouse – including the College’s development of T-Level qualifications that the College will deliver from September 2020.

She said: “I am delighted to be joining Derby College Group at what is an important time in the development of technical and vocational skills.

“The Roundhouse is an iconic college setting with state-of-the-art facilities and Ilkeston College is at the heart of the town and borough – offering a wide range of technical skills for school leavers and adults alike.

“Both Colleges have an excellent reputation for providing education and training that prepares students for the next stage of their lives and with the skills and attitudes that local and regional employers require.”

Derby College Group Principal Kate Martin added: “Liza-Jo has a strong background in both teaching, learning and leadership and management and will be an excellent addition to the senior leadership team at Derby College Group.”
