Loughborough College appoints Anne-Marie Francis to VP role

Loughborough College (@Lborocollege) has appointed Anne-Marie Francis as its new Vice Principal of Quality and Curriculum.

Anne-Marie, currently Vice Principal at Southport College, is an experienced and talented senior leader in the Further Education sector with a track record of success, organisational improvement and leadership.

Jo Maher, Principal and CEO, said:

“Anne-Marie brings tremendous expertise in delivering excellence and a successful track record of transforming colleges in the North West through exceptional leadership.”

Anne-Marie has been Vice Principal at Southport since 2018 after leading a merger between the college and King George V College, where she was previously acting Principal.

In her diverse career, Anne-Marie has led Performing Arts, Arts and Media as well as IT, A Levels and Horticulture, helping Burnley College achieve Ofsted Outstanding as well as helping lead King George V College from ‘inadequate’ to ‘good’ in 2017.

Anne-Marie said: “I am looking forward to working with governors, Jo and the senior team to help move Loughborough College onto its next chapter.

“My particular passion is for raising standards in teaching and learning. I am absolutely committed to ensuring each and every learner at Loughborough College has access to high quality educational opportunities to support their progression to be their best self.”

Before working in FE, Anne-Marie worked as an actor and voice coach in the Midlands and in the United States as well as running her own dance and drama school between 2003 and 2016.

Anne-Marie is set to start her new role at Loughborough in the new year.
