Human capital workplan: 2018

ONS has today (29 Oct) published a workplan, laying out how it plans to further improve and develop its measurement of ‘human capital.’ Human capital estimates the value of the skills and knowledge of UK workers and how this is changing over time.

These estimates help identify where skills lie and how investment can help develop people’s potential further.

ONS will launch a consultation in early 2019 that will set out more detailed proposals and options for implementing these improvements.

In addition, ONS and the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence are convening a meeting of academics and international experts in November 2018 to ensure any development plans build upon the best international expertise.
