Tresham College Musicians say Hello to the Big Time!

The Hello Velveteurs

Talented musicians from Tresham College, Kettering performed in front of an audience of thousands at the Wicksteed Park Fireworks display this November.

The students, who are all studying Music Performance & Production, competed in a ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition to win a coveted place in the final line-up. The band is called Hello Velveteurs and they performed a selection of pop and rock covers.

“For some of our students it was their first gig, so it was a great opportunity to perform live in front of such a large audience.  They rehearsed really hard and made us proud on the night,” said Tresham Music Lecturer Dr Cathy Grice.

This year the Hello Velveteurs were supported by another band from Bedford College The Know. Working together under The Bedford College Group umbrella, both colleges provide an extensive range of Level 2, Level 3, HND and HNC courses for young musicians.
