AIM Awards Scoop Top Award at Prestigious Awards

Derby-based AIM Awards scooped Gold after winning the prestigious ‘Qualification of the Year’ Award for its Games, Animation and VFX Qualification at the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) 2016 Awards. 

The Awards recognise and celebrate key areas of excellence within the awarding industry. The Awards, which were attended by over 350 industry experts, took place on the 21st & 22nd October at the Marriott Hotel in Leicester. 

AIM Awards is a national Awarding Organisation, offering a large number of Ofqual regulated qualifications at different levels and in a wide range of subject areas.

AIM Awards Chief Executive Linda Wyatt said: “It’s a fantastic accolade for AIM Awards to win this Award – especially as it’s voted for by our own industry and peers. We’ve had a great year, working exceptionally hard and evolving AIM to ensure we meet the needs of industry, our partners and learners”. Linda continued “Winning this Award means so much to the whole team at AIM and is a testament to their hard work and dedication”.

The company won the Award following an exceptional year, which involved launching a range of new industry related qualifications. The winning qualification was developed to provide the next generation of talent for the games, animation and VFX industry.  The consortium of industry experts and partners included Double Negative, Framestore, Moving Picture Company, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Microsoft, Ubisoft Reflections and the NextGen Skills Academy.

Stephen Wright, Chief Executive of FAB said “FAB was pleased to award the title of Qualification of the Year Award to AIM Awards in recognition of their Level 3 Games, Animation and VFX Skills qualification. The qualification is industry driven and innovative in its approach to combining science, technology, art, design, mathematics. Through its content, it ensures that learners are provided with the very best skills, experience and knowledge enabling entry into the expanding digital work place environment, apprenticeship programmes and HE education in this field.”
