Lecturers Joint Second in Teaching Awards

Three Weston College lecturers came joint second in the Teacher of the Year category at the Believe in Somerset Awards 2016.

The awards ceremony, which was held in Haynes International Motor Museum on 9 December, aimed to celebrate talented individuals, businesses and community groups who go the extra mile to promote Somerset.

Caderyn Sessions, Ben Hodder and Chris Simpson, from the College’s Faculty of Technology, Engineering and Construction, were nominated by their colleagues for their outstanding work which inspired not only their students, but also other members of staff.

Steve Caldwell, Weston College’s Head of Faculty for Technology, Engineering and Construction, said: “These three lecturers have made an outstanding contribution to teaching and learning.

“It is great to see them recognised for the contribution they make to improving the lives and futures of people in Somerset though their dedicated and inspiring work.

“They are a credit to Weston College, their profession and should be incredibly proud of themselves.”
