From education to employment

How open evenings can open your mind

Havering College host a number of open evenings throughout the year to give you a flavour of what we have to offer. Whether you’re considering higher education, an apprenticeship, or are looking to become an adult learner, come along to our next open evening on Thursday 18 January 2018 to find out how we can help you achieve you academic and career goals.

Open evenings are the chance for prospective parents and students to:

  • Receive a guided tour of our industry standard facilities
  • Talk to our inspiring tutors and pupils
  • Meet your potential tutors and classmates
  • Discuss what grades you need and if can you still get a place if you don’t quite get them
  • Explore apprenticeships
  • Discover the different types of courses available and the career paths they lead to

Results and reputation can only take students so far in the decision-making process, so it’s vital to visit us in person, to get a true feel for our culture, and how Havering College impacts both the local and academic community.

You have a lot of options to choose from, and making a decision about what’s right for you can be daunting – that’s why our team of qualified advisors are on hand to offer you guidance on the night.

Planning is vital to getting the best out of the evening, so it’s a good idea to think about what you want to gain from the evening ahead of time. Ask any niggling questions and crush any doubts you may have to make the right choice. After all, this is an investment that will reward you over a lifetime.

“Open evenings are an invaluable experience for the students as it allows them to gain in-depth advice and a sense of direction towards their chosen career. It also gives the opportunity for the student to clarify what the course and career will entail” – Summer Mason, Events and Promotions Officer, Havering College of Further and Higher Education.

We want every one of our students to achieve their ambition, come along to find out how we can help you achieve yours.
