Borders College is delighted to announce that three of its past and current students who were nominated for the LANTRA Awards 2018 have reached the final.

Agriculture Modern Apprentices Robert Pickford and Kieran Paxton (both up for Agriculture Learner of the Year), and former Horticulture student Reece McNaughton (up for Horticulture Learner of the Year), were interviewed in Perth earlier in the month by a panel of LANTRA judges.

Speaking of Reece’s selection as a finalist, Horticulture Lecturer Nigel Gibb said:

“This is fantastic news and I am really delighted for him.  Fingers crossed he could be a winner!”

Robert, Kieran and Reece will be accompanied by the staff members who nominated them at the awards ceremony on 1 March 2018, to be hosted by Perthshire farmer and stand-up comedian Jim Smith and welcoming TV presenter Dougie Vipond as main speaker.
