From education to employment

Barnsley College collaborates with partners to promote Learning for Life

Barnsley College has partnered with the Association of Colleges (AoC) and ITN Productions to create a programme that will be used as part of a national campaign which aims to highlight the impact of colleges on education and skills in the UK.

The Learning for Life programme premiered on Monday 19 November during the AoC’s annual conference and includes colleges from around the country. Introduced by national newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky, Barnsley College’s section features interviews with students and senior managers who share their thoughts about how the College ultimately transforms the lives of its students.

Anna Lukomska, a Level 3 Beauty Therapy student, participated in the programme and shared her experience of moving to England and returning to education as an adult where she is now studying English and maths qualifications alongside her Beauty Therapy course.

Chris Webb, Chief Executive and Principal of Barnsley College, said: “We are delighted to be featured in this AoC programme which really helps to highlight the important role colleges play in shaping the future for young people and helping older people retrain and realise their dreams. It’s a great way to showcase our College and of course, our brilliant town.”

The programme features key industry interviews and news-style reports along with sponsored editorial profiles.
