West London College TASTE Restaurant recently hosted the Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Chef of the Year Competition for the third time.

The live cook-off staged in TASTE’s industry standard kitchens saw the participant chefs prepare their dishes in just 45 minutes and present their creations to an expert judging panel to be selected as the 10 best curry chefs in the UK.

The atmosphere in TASTE was lively throughout the event with industry professionals, Bengali and Indian media channels, West London College Hospitality and Catering students and lecturers, among the attendees.

The BCA Best Chef of the Year category was introduced in 2011 to encourage and recognise the best chefs and to celebrate the entrepreneurial talent of the UK’s best curry houses and their contributions to the UK’s Curry industry.

Representatives from West London College attended the 13th Annual Bangladesh Caterers Association Awards ceremony where Tiger Garden’s Chef Kodor Ali was named Chef of the year. The awards were hosted by television presenter Tasmin Lucia-Khan and British actor Alexis Conran at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in November.

TASTE Restaurant facilities are of industry standard and have served as a venue for various industries competitions and events. The Restaurant is open during term-time from Wednesday to Friday offering dishes prepared by our hospitality and catering students.
