Calling all Personal Licence Holders in the Scottish Borders

Did you know that you can renew your Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders at Borders College through its 10 Year Refresher course?

In Scotland, every individual serving alcohol to paying customers is legally required by the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 to hold a Personal Licence. Licence holders whose licence is set to expire on or before 1 September 2019 will be required to complete a Refresher Training Course, allowing them to continue working behind a bar for another ten year period without the need to complete the whole qualification again from the beginning.
The half-day course will include some pre-course home study, and costs £95 per person.

Borders College understands that it can be difficult to fit training in around work and personal commitments, and with this in mind has published a range of advance training dates spanning January to July 2019 (the Licensing Board’s renewal deadline is 31 May 2019).

The Scottish Government is encouraging everyone who is required to complete training to do so as soon as possible as it is expected that Licensing Boards will become very busy with renewal applications.

So check your licence expiry date, and book onto a 10 Year Refresher course today by calling 01450 361030.
