Indian start-ups to benefit from Cranfield University expertise

Start-up companies in India will benefit from the knowledge and advice of leading Cranfield University academics, thanks to a new partnership agreed this month.

As part of the agreement with India-based SR Innovation Exchange (SRiX), Indian entrepreneurs will be invited to undertake a 10-week immersion programme at Cranfield aimed at helping them to find access routes to markets.

Under the partnership, the university’s academics will also visit SRiX to conduct learning sessions focused on manufacturing excellence, and will provide the organisation with support to design innovation programmes for corporate clients, particularly in the manufacturing sector.

In turn, SRiX will become a base for much of Cranfield’s work in India, particularly in the Telangana region.

Professor Simon Pollard, Pro-Vice Chancellor (International) at Cranfield University, said:

“We are looking forward to working with SRiX to create innovative programmes that benefit both of our institutions and our clients. Cranfield has a proud tradition of collaborating with Indian academia, industry and government. This agreement will further enhance our strong links in India and will enable us to share our academic expertise, particularly within the manufacturing sector.”

Sreedevi Devireddy, CEO of SR Innovation Exchange, said: “We are delighted to be working with Cranfield. Together, we hope to create a programme that will greatly benefit both British and Indian entrepreneurs and will help them to gain greater access to international markets.”
