From education to employment

University Campus Barnsley Art students host public exhibition

BA (Hons) Fine Art Practice students from University Campus Barnsley (UCB) will be showcasing their talents at the inaugural Salon exhibition which opens on Tuesday 29 January at UCB.

The free exhibition is open to the public and will run until Friday 1 February. The artwork on show will comprise a collection of paintings, photography, graphic design, printmaking, ceramics and sculpture and digital drawing. The exhibition is one of many that UCB organises throughout the year, celebrating the creative abilities and vision of both staff and students and the experimental work they have been exploring in the first half of the year.

Evan Wood, HE Curriculum Leader for Creative Industries at UCB, said: “The Salon has always been an experimental event where our artists down their tools and invite the public to see what they have been up to, this year’s Salon is no exception. The Salon is designed to show who is coming through the ranks of our degree programme with an opportunity to engage and discuss their work, offer feedback, support and guidance, satisfy a curiosity, be part of a community of artists and celebrate the necessity of making.”

To view the exhibition simply call into UCB on Church Street between 9.00am and 4.00pm, Tuesday to Friday.
