Malaysian education officials visit Barking & Dagenham College

Barking & Dagenham College was visited by Members of Malaysia’s Education Ministry and other education professionals on 30 January.

The Department for International Trade’s Education Team in Malaysia organised an Early Years mission to the UK and the College was one of the hosts.

The mission aimed to improve the Early Childhood Care and Education curriculum standards in the country by bringing together local stakeholders to visit the UK.

The College’s Malaysian guests were made of up of professionals in early childhood care and education, and senior officials from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.

The seven delegates met with the College’s Assistant Principal for Health and Science Industries, Ann McDaniel and members of her team

Ann gave them a presentation on the College’s Early Years curriculum and a tour of the campus, she remarked: 

“Our Malaysian guests asked lots of questions and were impressed with the curriculum, the support we provide to our learners and our facilities.

“They want to collaborate with us to support the development of their early years education and have invited us to visit them in Malaysia.”
