The College offers training programmes which are well aligned with the strategic focus of the Collab Group network. These include courses in the engineering, energy and utilities sectors as well as in IT and digital innovation. The College also offers training in response to the needs of the local economy with the aim to increase the productive capacity of the region.

Regarding students, satisfaction levels are consistently high, with 94% of students stating they are happy with the quality of their courses.

In 2018 the College received a successful Estyn profile (Welsh equivalent of Ofsted) and is in a strong financial position.

Ian Pretty, CEO at Collab Group, said:

“I warmly welcome Gower College Swansea into the Collab Group network. It is a leading Welsh college with great student satisfaction levels, finances and reputation.

“The College’s sectorial focus fits well with the profile of our existing members and will allow us to strengthen the services we can provide to major employers.

“Building our geographical coverage in Wales is crucial for our UK wide network, and Gower College Swansea allows us to achieve this. I am looking forward to working with the Principal, Mark Jones and his leadership team and I am delighted to welcome them on board.”

Speaking about the partnership, Principal Mark Jones said:  “In recent years Gower College Swansea has developed an additional innovative and outward focussed approach to all areas of its business. Therefore we are delighted to be invited to join the Collab Group and to work alongside a similar minded group of successful colleges and, in doing so, to share best practice for the benefit of all our student communities and employers.”
