From education to employment

USP College and ITEC Merger to Deliver More Choice in High Quality #Apprenticeships

Young people and businesses in south Essex are set to benefit from a wider range and larger number of high quality apprenticeships as USP College acquires local apprenticeship provider, ITEC Learning Technologies LTD.

The two organisations have come together as one to provide young people in the local community with better access to high-quality and sought after apprenticeships to launch successful professional careers.

USP College and ITEC plan to grow their portfolio of apprenticeship programmes within five key career sector areas:

  1. creative and digital;
  2. healthcare and medical;
  3. financial sector and professional services;
  4. early years, childcare and education; and
  5. life and sports sciences.

These sector areas match those that have been prioritised in USP College’s existing career-focussed learning strategy, aligning its educational provision with the business areas that hold the greatest long-term career opportunities for young people in the local area.

Dan Pearson, Principal and CEO of USP College said:

“This is an exciting venture for both organisations which will build on ITEC’s 35 years of experience and success in running specialised IT training courses and apprenticeships, as well as complement USP College’s apprenticeship programmes and business development plans going forward.”

The College currently has spaces available on its apprenticeships in accounting, business administration, childcare, early years, IT and pharmacy, allowing students to combine hands on training with academic study whilst earning a wage.

The programmes are all delivered on a ‘roll on, roll off’ basis, meaning students can apply for and start an apprenticeship at any time in the academic year.
