North Kent College Tutors Are Putting the Spotlight on Make-Up Education

Tutors from the Beauty, Spa & Make-Up department at North Kent College made their way to take part in the initial Warpaint Education Village at Professional Beauty London.

Stacie Collings, Curriculum Manager Beauty, Spa & Make-up, had been invited along by Emma Rutherford, Editorial Director of Warpaint Magazine, to help represent the Further Education sector. She was also asked to take part in an Industry panel discussion on the main Warpaint stage, about the different educations options available, and she was keen to highlight the positive aspects of taking a course at North Kent College.

The panel was led by Armand Beasley, Celebrity Make-Up artist, who asked various questions to the panellists. The audience was given an insight into areas such as support, programme contents, career progression and development and how important it is to start with learning the basics.

He spoke passionately about his career saying, “I never stop learning! Since being connected with Professional Beauty, it has made me want to get back into being more involved with education”.

Commenting on why they attended the event, Stacie spoke highly of the department, “We wish to highlight the fantastic courses and facilities offered by North Kent College, as well as showcasing the vast experience of the lecturing team and the support we are able to provide to our learners.  We have strong links with industry professionals, and this continues to enrich and add value to the programmes available with us”.

The event was a huge success, with many people benefiting from the information given out on the day. Emma Rutherford gave high praise, remarking “Stacie was a very knowledgeable addition on our Warpaint Industry Panel on education and gave valuable advice to our attendees.  We’d love to have her back next year!”
