Barking & Dagenham College students preview new Centre for Advanced Technologies

Students got a VIP tour of Barking & Dagenham College’s new Centre for Advanced Technologies (CAT) last week.

The CAT will train people in a wide range of modern curriculum areas including: Advanced Infrastructure Technologies; Engineering and Robotics; Data and Big Data; and TV and Film Production.

The project will be completed in the autumn, so the tour was an exciting sneak preview of what the interior may look like. The tours were led by ‘Construction Fit Out’ specialists ISG, the company that is carrying out the internal refurbishment and redesign of existing facilities.

ISG were at the College all day on Wednesday 7th March, taking part in the College’s annual ‘Inspiration Day’ – a day of industry-themed events and activities for students and local school children.

John Lattimore, Senior Projects Manager, ISG also met some construction students, he commented: “I spoke to them at length highlighting where I began my career and where I sit now within one of the biggest Construction Fit Out companies in the UK.

“We truly hope our participation in Inspiration Day helps to encourage an interest in Construction.”
