Barnsley Sixth Form College Drama and Theatre students set to tread the boards

Barnsley Sixth Form College Drama and Theatre students are gearing up for a varied trio of performances at their end-of-year show next month.

The triple-header of performances will include Dario Fo, a comedy inspired by women, politics and society; Kneehigh, a storytelling-based production surrounding the stigma of mental health issues; and Antonin Artaud – Theatre of Cruelty, which is based around the three meanings of possession.

The show is open to the public and will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday 4 April in the EnRich Auditorium at the Sixth Form, which is on St Mary’s Place in Barnsley town centre. Tickets are £1.50.

Drama and Theatre tutor Shannon Walker said:

“The students have worked exceptionally hard and put all their efforts into producing highly creative and innovative performances in three very different styles. Audiences can expect to laugh at Fo, be on the edges of their seats for Artaud and be drawn into the story of Kneehigh. Everyone is welcome to come along and immerse themselves in this unique theatre experience.”
