Barking & Dagenham College’s Jusdeep performs at the Royal Opera House

She gained a place on the Culture Device Dance Project which had a 13 week residency at the Royal Opera House which ended last week. The Culture Device Dance Project is an innovative dance company for professional dancers with Down Syndrome.

The dance residency at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden involved creating a two-part ballet with live score, performed by award winning artists with Down Syndrome and dancers of the Royal Ballet.

Jusdeep’s teacher at Barking & Dagenham College Teresa Byrne said:

“This has been a fantastic experience for Jusdeep and has really helped her to grow in confidence. We are very proud of her and delighted that she got this fabulous opportunity.”

Culture Device choreographs, produce and promote social-cultural events across the UK and overseas. Established in 2010, they have delivered over 15 projects with exceptional artists with Down’s Syndrome (DS), reaching over 2.5 million people.
