A Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) student has been awarded a triple distinction after recently completing a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Customer Service.

Lizzie Stubley enrolled on the apprenticeship with Simplyhealth a year after joining the company as a Customer Advisor in November 2016. As part of her personal development plan and the apprenticeship, she then became a Senior Advisor in the team.

Lizzie is the first BCoT student to complete their apprenticeship this year, after completing it in March and receiving her results shortly after she said: “The apprenticeship has helped me to understand more about Simplyhealth.  I learned more about regulations and legislations and the apprenticeship significantly improved my confidence. I was delighted to receive a distinction and couldn’t stop smiling.”

Lorraine Heath Deputy Principal for Business at BCoT, said: “I would like to congratulate Lizzie on achieving a remarkable grade upon completing her apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining recognised qualifications and workplace experience while earning a salary, and I have every confidence Lizzie will progress into a successful career in a customer service role.”

BCoT’s apprenticeship team, Aspiral Learning, is one of the largest providers in the region and was one of the first providers to offer the new customer service apprenticeships when they were first released by the government in 2016.

Natalie Dixey, Apprenticeship Manager at Simplyhealth, highly commended the staff at Aspiral Learning, and said: “Lizzie received great support throughout the apprenticeship programme, right from sign-up through to the end point assessment. Apprenticeships are just one of the ways that we’re investing in the personal development and career growth of our colleagues and BCoT have been helpful providing advice and helping us to launch apprenticeships under the new levy scheme.”
