We (Still) Love Our College!
You may recall the national Love our Colleges campaign back in October last year.
It’s back with a vengeance and, following October’s success, there will be another jam-packed week of activity next week from Monday 13th to Friday 17th May.
The campaign is an opportunity to highlight the brilliant work that goes on in Colleges, the staff that make it possible, and also to call on the government for better investment in Colleges, including fairer pay for staff. Last year, the action resulted in four parliamentary debates, FE funding being discussed at the prime minister’s question time and many back-bench MPs getting involved. This time, it hopes to take it one step further.
Together with Havering Sixth Form College, we have a host of activities planned which include a round-table meeting with MP Julia Lopez, social media campaigns and a local radio interview on Phoenix FM. You can get involved via your own social media channels (#LoveOurColleges) and by writing to your local MP.
