From education to employment

Abbotsford staff enjoy Border College’s ‘bespoke’ Visitor Experience Training

The importance of customer care was top of the agenda for The Abbotsford Trust and 34 of its volunteers and staff, who recently undertook the bespoke Visitor Experience Training, delivered on site at Abbotsford.

In preparation for the new season, volunteer Visitor Service Assistants and Room Stewards learnt about the importance of their role in ensuring that visitors receive a 5-star service when visiting Abbotsford.

During the interactive sessions participants were able to share good practice, look at ways to improve service and revisit the importance of their roles in the development of the business.

As part of its service, Borders College Business Development Unit (BDU) offers bespoke training solutions to customers, ensuring they deliver the training required to assist in business growth and product development.

Chief Executive of Abbotsford Trust Giles Ingram commented:

“The Abbotsford Trust is delighted to have collaborated with Borders College on this bespoke Visitor Experience Training. We are keen to give our volunteers the best possible training opportunities and the Business Development Unit at Borders College tailored the course perfectly to our needs. Feedback from our volunteers has been fantastic and everyone thought the course was worthwhile and thoroughly enjoyable. It has already payed off. At a recent inspection by Visit Scotland our staff and volunteers passed with flying colours and we improved our 5-star rating.”
