Great Recognition for Haringey Sixth Form College Students at the 2019 Jack Petchey Achievement Awards

The Jack Petchey Foundation was set up to inspire and motivate young people across London and Essex by providing exciting projects and programmes for them to get involved in.

A fantastic awards presentation for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme was held on the evening of Monday 10th June 2019, at The Bernie Grant Art Centre in Tottenham.

“The Achievement Awards are primarily about recognising those who put in the effort and do their best. Each year, we recognise 14,000 Achievement Award winners and invest £3.5m through the Achievement Awards scheme.” Sir Jack Petchey CBE

Russ Lawrance, Principal & CEO at Haringey Sixth Form College was delighted with the turnout for the evening – “It was great to see so many young achievers; not just from Haringey Sixth Form College but from all schools and colleges across the borough. The awards reflect on some outstanding achievements of today’s young people. I was delighted to be in attendance, to see all of them receiving the just desserts for their hard work and positive impact in their communities. Great credit to our #H6Experience Coordinator, Franck Batimba and to all our staff for their support. I am so proud of each and every one of our students; they looked immaculate on the evening as the pictures testify. Well done all!”

Students were called to the stage one by one and testimonies were read out, reflecting their great achievements. They then posed for photographs with the Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Shelia Peacock and Haringey’s Director of Children’s Services, Ann Graham.
