Kirklees College Students perfect their pooches in dog grooming competition

It was dog eat dog for Kirklees College’s Animal Care students as they groomed their pooches to pawfection in this year’s dog grooming competition.

With both Level 2 and Level 3 students taking part, judges had a tough decision ahead of them as they observed carefully the skills of the students as they beautified the barnets of their beloved best friends.

Demonstrating their skills gained from the Animal care course, the students were set with the task of grooming their adorable clients to their owner’s requests.

The event was sponsored by Redcape grooming supplies who also provided the prizes. The judges were past Level 3 students, Cheryl Rice from All four paws and Michelle Eyre.

Level 3 student Alaynah Mackie said – “It’s been a brilliant day, I always look forward to the competition at the end of the year. I’m looking forward to continuing on to a HNC course in animal management. The tutors are really helpful and you can always approach them for advice because everyone is really friendly”.
