From education to employment

Gower College Swansea Annual Student Awards 2019

Our outstanding students have been honoured one again, at the Gower College Swansea 2019 Annual Awards ceremony.

The ceremony took place at the Liberty Stadium, with recipients representing every aspect of college life from full time A Level and vocational courses, through to apprentices, HE learners and clients from the College’s employability support programmes.

BBC Wales presenter Ross Harries hosted the evening, where students were honoured for their achievements both academic and personal, and he was joined by guest speaker Elin Manahan Thomas, a former Gower College Swansea student who has been called ‘one of the most versatile sopranos of her generation’.

“Gower College Swansea has always enjoyed one of the highest quality profiles of any education institution,” says Principal Mark Jones. “All of this has been achieved as a result of the outstanding commitment and dedication of both our students – all 13,000 of them each year – and our staff, and this event is an opportunity to celebrate their success and pay tribute to the ‘best of the best.

“To all those who have received awards this year, can I offer my personal congratulations but also my thanks for being the role models that other students, following on behind, will both learn and benefit from.”
