From education to employment

NOCN Group forges partnership with SIEG in China

NOCN Group has signed a formal agreement with Sloane International Education Group (SIEG) based in Hong Kong, China. SIEG is now officially an NOCN Centre for Endorsed Programmes and registrations for courses will commence later this year.

The partnership was officially launched at a ribbon cutting ceremony at SIEG’s new offices in Shenzhen Talents Park, situated in the district of Futian, one of China’s 20 economic enterprise regions.

The Shenzhen Talents Park specialises in developing HR and employability skills for young people and promoting an active workforce. The launch ceremony was attended by SIEG’s Chairman, Francis Chiu, Jessica Chiu, CEO and SIEG staff.

Head of International Business Development, at NOCN, Stephen Ram Kissun explains:

“Our partnership with SIEG is an exciting one and it was an honour to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at SIEG’s impressive new offices, that signifies good fortune and prosperity for this new collaboration, exploring endorsed programmes and the offer of regulated qualifications.”

Shenzhen is earmarked to be China’s answer to the ‘Silicon Valley’ in California, US with Allababa, Tencent and other Chinese tech companies, based there.

The partnership with SIEG was forged following an initial meeting, organised on the back of a Northern Powerhouse Trade Mission, supported by the Department for International Trade in 2018.

Fabienne Bailey, MD of NOCN’s subsidiary organisation One Awards, joined colleagues from other northern businesses to manage a stand throughout the Expo to promote the concept that ‘Education is Great’ in the UK. During the Expo, Fabienne had the opportunity to present the recent research completed by the NOCN Group and the Learning and Work Institute ‘Skills for a Productive Society’.

The Expo was a great success, allowing both the NOCN Group and its subsidiary One Awards to engage with Hong Kong and Chinese partners, whilst also connecting with other Northern Powerhouse businesses.
