Coventry College Extends Senior Roles

The new management duo appointed to run Coventry College will stay with the organisation for at least another year.

Gill Banks and Debi Donnarumma – CEO and Principal & Deputy CEO – were appointed to Coventry College in April when Peter Bramhall left to join the Futures Group.

Now the corporate board has extended their stay until next August allowing them to continue the college’s improvement plans.

Coventry College – which has a city centre and Henley campus – is the largest further education institution in the city with 8,000 Apprentices, full and part-time students. It is also a major employer with around 600 staff.

Sue Noyes, chair of governors, said: “I am delighted that Gill and Debi have accepted and that they will be continuing their leadership of our improvement plans.

“We know that our college requires stability, leadership and performance expertise to allow us to continue to build a successful organisation for the students and the city we serve at such an pivotal time for Coventry.”

Gill, who had worked for Coventry College as a consultant before taking on her CEO role, was Principal at Knowsley Community College (part of SK College Group), a senior post holder at The City of Liverpool SCollege and Head of Faculty at Southport College.

Debi worked at the former Henley College as well at Leicester College and Loughborough College where she was Vice Principal.

Gill said: “This is a very exciting time for both Coventry and for Coventry College. The college has a key role in allowing young people to fulfil their potential while making a key contribution to the economy, the city and wider area.”
