Flexible study can be tailored to fit around students’ work and family commitments

Barnsley College is launching a new Online and On Campus AAT part-time course, perfect for people who want to get an accounting qualification but who can’t commit to attending classes each week.

The Level 2 course, which will begin in September, will offer flexible study with content delivered via online video lectures and interactive case studies and attendance in College tailored to fit around students’ work and family commitments.

No previous qualifications are needed and the course covers areas such as bookkeeping transactions, elements of costing and computerised accounts.

Angela Kerley, Head of Department for Business, Warehousing and Logistics, said:

“Accounting is a really popular course but we find that for some students, attendance at classes every week becomes too much due to job commitments or busy family life. This new course will allow the content to be studied flexibly online at any time, and attendance in College is reduced to every other week, or even once a month, depending on the student’s progress.”
