Sixth formers at the Islington school achieved a 97% pass rate and 66% of students received A*- C grades.

City of London Academy Highbury Grove, previously Highbury Grove School, is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school for students aged 11 to 18 teaching both A-levels and BTEC courses. The school is part of the City of London Academies Trust, which runs the City of London Corporation’s sole sponsored academies.

Last year results showed pupils at the academy had made the biggest improvement of any school in Islington in 2018.

Clare Verga, Executive Principal, said:

“Huge congratulations to all the students. Their hard work and dedication over the past few months has truly paid off and we wish each and every pupil the very best of luck in their next venture.

“These results could not have been achieved without such outstanding support from our staff and parents.”

Andrew McMurtrie, Chair of the City of London Academies Trust, said:

“Congratulations to all the students, staff, governors and parents.

“The City of London Corporation aims to ensure that young Londoners in the City Corporation’s schools have access to the information, advice and experiences that will help them to progress into fulfilling careers

“We wish each and every student all the very best, and hope that our core values stay with them for many years to come.”
