We received a Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request for: “the full results of a survey of London schools you carried out as part of the research that culminated in your ‘Safeguarding children and young people in education from knife crime’ report”.

In response, we made a disclosure of statistical data from the initial survey responses. This is a copy of that disclosure.

As the published report states, we received 107 responses to the survey we sent to schools, alternative provision and further education colleges in London.

We were able to disclose the individual responses from this survey; however, we must take into account Ofsted’s responsibilities to protect the identity of the individuals and provisions who responded to, and completed, the survey.

Consequently, we have taken steps to anonymise this data as the inclusion of some elements of it would allow the identification of individuals who completed the survey via their schools, and in recognition of the duty of confidence owed by Ofsted to survey respondents on how this data would be used.

We are satisfied that the exemptions at sections 40(2) and 41 of the FOI Act apply to the information we have removed.
