Ofsted's new education inspection framework applies to maintained schools and academies, non-association independent schools, further education and skills providers and early years settings.

Ofsted consulted on the draft education inspection framework and proposed handbooks between January and April 2019.

We published the new framework and handbooks on 14 May 2019 along with a consultation outcome report.
