From education to employment

SERC Students’ Union Welcomes ‘Freshers’

Caption: Freshers’ Week at SERC Bangor Campus had great support with almost 20 exhibitors joining (L – R) Nora Duncan Senior Campaigns and Development Advisor at NUS-USI, Alex Fox, Level 3 Media student and Catherine Shipman, Student Engagement Manager, SERC, to welcome hundreds of new students to the College.

Hundreds of new students took part in the annual Students’ Union led Freshers’ Week at South Eastern Regional College (SERC) last week.

Catherine Shipman, Student Engagement Manager said, “The Students’ Union were delighted to welcome many local services, charities and businesses to help us welcome hundreds of new students to SERC. The Week gives our new students the opportunity to find out about services open to them within the College and in the local community, from banking to fitness, from opportunities for volunteering to special offers and student discounts to clubs and societies.”

She added, “Freshers’ Week kicks off a year of activities organised by the Students’ Union under the theme of health and well-being and we encourage students to get involved and make the most of all the opportunities available through the Students’ Union, the College and the wider community which will help students make new connections and friends and give them the edge when applying for further courses or employment in the future.”

We would like to thank all local businesses, organisations and services who supported Freshers’ Week at SERC in Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards.
