Guidance on the role of National Leaders of Governance (NLGs) in supporting college improvement. It includes information on:

  • how the new further education programme will operate
  • who’s eligible to apply

Serving governors and clerks at further education (FE) colleges are eligible to apply.

The first application round has closed and appointments are detailed on National Leaders of Governance for further education: national leaders. To register an interest in applying to become an NLG, please email FE[email protected].

The National Leaders of Governance programme for further education was run by the Association of Colleges until March 2018. The new programme is managed by the Office of the FE Commissioner within the Department for Education.
