From education to employment

Barnsley College help boost businesses using interactive presentations and augmented reality

Talent United, the employer engagement initiative run by Barnsley College, will host a free masterclass on using augmented reality #AR and interactive presentations to employers who want to showcase their business.

The informal event takes place on Wednesday 6 November, 4.30pm to 6.00pm in The Hub Space at Barnsley College’s Old Mill Lane campus.

The event will be delivered by Talent United partner James Wilmshurst, Founder of BePresentable! The one hour masterclass will demonstrate how to showcase your business using interactive presentations and augmented reality. Guests will also get an introduction to QR codes and learn how to use them for marketing purposes.

Jess Widdowson, Enterprise Team Leader at Barnsley College, will introduce Talent United and explain how businesses can get involved with the programme, which aims to bridge the gap between education and employment. There will be an opportunity to network and complimentary refreshments will also be provided.

Talent United regularly hosts a variety of partner-led workshops which are free and designed to develop key business skills. These events are open to everyone, which makes them perfect for business owners wanting to introduce new skills, or individuals with an interest in a particular subject.

Jess said: “We look forward to welcoming delegates to this event. The masterclass offers skills that can give businesses a real competitive edge and we hope to inspire them to get involved with our programmes and make a positive impact on a young person’s life.”

Places are limited, so businesses are being encouraged to book via Eventbrite. Alternatively, employers can reserve a place by contacting the Enterprise department by contacting 01226 216 411.
