Mindful Education, a London-based education technology company, was named Edtech Company of the Year award at this year’s UK Business Tech Awards. The awards were held in Marylebone, central London, on Wednesday, 13 November.

The UK Business Tech Awards celebrate UK technology businesses who show exceptional innovation and application of technology to transform and grow businesses. This year’s awards featured 23 categories, all of which are judged by an independent panel of some of the UK’s leading technology experts.

On presenting the Edtech Company of the Year award to Mindful Education, the judges commented that it had “impressive growth, and the entry demonstrated that there is a demand for the solution they provide. It’s a really exciting business, with a great mission and product.”

Mark Mckenna, Founder and Managing Director, said:

“We are delighted to be named Edtech Company of the Year.

Employers, students and apprentices increasingly want their learning to be available as and when they need it, allowing them to readily develop the skills they need to progress in the workplace. Being able to meet that need through a blend of high-quality learning – both online and in classrooms around the UK – has been central to our growth and achievements.”

Mindful Education was founded in 2015, and is based in central London. They work in partnership with further education colleges, training providers and employer-providers across the UK to deliver media-rich professional courses and apprenticeships in accounting, management, law and human resources.

Their courses are delivered using a flexible learning approach, which they call Online and On Campus. Online lessons are accessible at any time, from any device. Video lectures are supported by award-winning motion graphics, animations, quizzes and interactive case studies.

Learners also attend college classes, where tutors are on hand to provide support and embed learning. Discussion and debate with classmates helps to apply theories learnt to real-life workplace challenges.
