Pearson VUE named #EdTech double-finalist for Minnesota’s 2019 TEKNE Awards

Pearson VUE, the global leader in computer-based testing, has been announced as a double-finalist for the Minnesota High Tech Association 2019 Tekne Awards, with two nominations in the EdTech category.

For the last two decades, the Tekne Awards have recognized organizations that are cutting-edge innovators in science and technology within Minnesota. Attracting Minnesota leaders from business, academia and government, this community will come together on November 20th to celebrate Minnesota’s diverse tech-based economy.

The ‘EdTech’ award ‘recognizes advancements in digital technology to make learning and teaching more interactive, dynamic, adaptive, collaborative and immersive for students of all ages.’

Examples include multi-media integration, gamification, learning apps,  and peer-to-peer learning platforms.

Pearson VUE has been shortlisted for its online proctoring platform, OnVUE and its performance-based testing solution, ALII:

  • OnVUE – Launched in 2019, OnVUE is Pearson VUE’s next generation online proctoring platform. Online proctoring frees candidates from having to travel to a physical test center by allowing them to test whenever and wherever they want while upholding the security requirements of credentialing organizations.
  • ALII – Pearson VUE’s ALII lab specification allows test sponsors to work with nearly any lab hosting provider to bring high-fidelity software assessment experiences to their candidates. With ALII, candidates can now perform real world job scenarios inside a certification exam at Pearson VUE’s testing centers across the world.

‘’We’re honored to be a double-finalist in the EdTech category,’’ said Farzana Ashraf, CTO & SVP, Products & Services at Pearson VUE.

‘’Pearson VUE’s technology strategy and solutions are at the heart of everything we do, and these nominations highlight our progress in making high-stakes certification and licensing testing experiences more convenient and more available for testing candidates.’’

“This year’s Tekne Award finalists demonstrate thought leadership and are spearheading technology innovation in Minnesota and around the world,” said Jeff Tollefson, President and CEO of the Minnesota High Tech Association. “We look forward to further recognizing these organizations at the 2019 Tekne Awards as well as highlighting the impressive science and technology community here in Minnesota.”
