A Christmas networking event with a sweet twist 

Talent United, the employer engagement initiative run by Barnsley College, will host a free festive networking event for local businesses this December.

The informal ‘Baubles and Business’ networking event takes place at Barnsley Football Club’s Oakwell Stadium on Thursday 12 December from 5.00pm to 6.30pm.

Local entrepreneur and chocolatier, Mark Simpson, of Oh My Ganache will be treating guests to a blind chocolate taste test and telling the story of how he has established his thriving business. Jess Widdowson, Enterprise Team Leader at Barnsley College, will speak about Talent United, the College’s employer engagement initiative, which aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, and how you can get involved. Attendees will be also be treated to complimentary festive refreshments, and chocolate treats with an opportunity to network with local business representatives.

Jess said: “We look forward to welcoming attendees to this event to enjoy a glass of fizz whilst hearing about how to get involved in a great programme that can make a positive impact on a young person’s life and their business.” 

Places are limited, so businesses are being encouraged to book via Eventbrite.
