From education to employment

UCEM launches Construction Site Management Degree Apprenticeship

The University College of Estate Management (@StudyUCEM) launches new Construction Site Management Degree Apprenticeship

Current and aspiring construction site and project managers can now upskill to BSc (Hons) level with University College of Estate Management’s (UCEM) Construction Site Management Degree Apprenticeship.

Apprentices will take part in workplace training and study with UCEM to work towards gaining a BSc (Hons) degree accredited by RICS, CIOB, CABE, and ICES which will prepare them to achieve chartership.

For employers, the apprenticeship is an opportunity to upskill existing staff or hire new apprentices as they work towards becoming fully qualified construction site managers or project managers.

UCEM’s Associate Director – Enterprise Business Development, Martin Cawley, commented:

“This apprenticeship has been in the pipeline for a few years now. We developed it in response to industry demand and I am delighted that we are now in a position to put it out to the market.

“The apprenticeship will enable construction firms to use the levy in upskilling employees to a high professional standard as construction site managers or project managers. The degree also is a big step forward in enabling managers to become chartered with the professional body of their choice.

“Currently, there are not many providers offering this apprenticeship. As an online provider of supported online education, we are able to support businesses nationwide and help with the demand for the qualification.

“I look forward to hearing from employers who wish to take up this opportunity, and we look forward to training the first cohort of Construction Site Management apprentices from October.”
