RADA Business launches virtual media performance coaching

Now more than ever, it’s important to ensure that leaders can communicate well under pressure. Following the launch of its online performance and coaching programmes, Virtual Stage, RADA Business, the commercial subsidiary of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (@RADA_London), is extending its online offering of virtual performance coaching to include a new virtual training programme on media performance.

As we see business personnel continue to adapt to new ways of remote working, leaders and spokespeople continue to fulfil media commitments, now working through remote platforms. Often, formal stakeholder announcements are delivered alone and from their own homes, without the support of a professional crew, or producer. Delivering a professional and authentic performance for any media, be it television, radio, or webinars, demands particular skills and techniques. The renowned training provider is offering this crucial coaching to help equip business leaders and key spokespeople deliver their message – wherever they are.

The bespoke, virtual programme uses in-depth personal feedback, coaching and direction, including practical exercises, discussion and analysis that is split into two 3.5 hour long modules.

In the first module, participants receive one-on-one direction on how to flex between communication styles for different audiences and situations, whilst exploring physical and vocal presence. From the basics of how to set up your screen, lighting and background, to the importance of increasing your vocal range and expanding your physical presence.

In the second module, professionals learn how to hold their space, maintain their state in high-stakes-scenarios, and deliver their message with clarity and impact.

Rachel Griffiths, Client Director at RADA Business, comments: “Media interviews are often the cause of much trepidation for our clients. Any media interview represents an opportunity for a leader to deliver their message in a highly visible medium, to be the ambassador for their brand, and to build trust with their stakeholders. Interviews are often recorded and shared across multiple channels and audiences. To ensure the opportunity is maximised, every performance should be authentic.’’

‘‘A leader must be able to embody their message. They must ensure that what they are saying matches what they are feeling, thinking and behaving. The right media know-how can be make or break for some businesses. A strong media performance can build trust, increase engagement and impact share price.’’

“We are extremely excited to be launching the latest addition to our virtual performance programmes, with an offering that provides business professionals with the skills and techniques to deliver an effective, aligned and powerful performance on camera and to the media.”

RADA Business, the profits from which support the activities of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, works with leaders and teams from a wide range of organisations, such as law firms, retailers, media companies, universities and governments, across 30 countries. The organisation’s renowned performance coaching programmes help professionals learn effective skills using body, breath and vocal techniques to tackle a range of difficulties in the workplace.
