@wgmin_education – The Welsh Government has today published updated guidance to support higher education, further education and work based providers as they continue to prepare for the autumn term and beyond.

Both sets of guidance have been published by Education Minister Kirsty Williams who stressed that ‘the health, safety and wellbeing of staff, students and learners will remain a top priority’.

Both sets of guidance include detailed information on protective measures including how to engage with the Welsh Government’s test, trace and protect programme and advice on PPE.

Education Minister Kirsty Williams said: “I am pleased to publish this guidance today.

“I recognise that, in planning for the autumn and beyond, institutions and learning providers will have to strike a balance between meeting the educational needs of learners, and ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of students, learners and staff.

“The guidance published today will help providers determine the correct protective measures and prioritise actions that will help to minimise the transmission of COVID-19.”

“The health, safety and wellbeing of the entire education family here in Wales will remain the top priority as we make preparations to support students and staff and plan for a return to face-to-face learning as current restrictions are eased.”
