College student dreams big with new beauty business

Shanna Greenall

A Level 2 Hair and Beauty student at @barnsleycollege has set her sights high as she embarks upon a new business launch with the help of iTrust, Barnsley College’s joint venture with Barnsley Chronicle and The Business Village.

Shanna Greenall, 19, has launched Limitless Lashes, selling vegan, faux mink strip lashes thanks to a grant of £250 provided by Barnsley College’s entrepreneurial initiative, iTrust.

Shanna said: “During lock-down, I started to think about starting up my own business more seriously, the workshops at College really helped me put my mind to it. Now I have launched Limitless Lashes; my grant will allow me to purchase my first bulk order of lashes, package them and start developing my website.”

Jess Widdowson, Enterprise Team Leader at Barnsley College, added: “Shanna was a part of the Enterprise Skills Project, delivered by Andy Callard from Sheffield Hallam University and myself; she stood out as a very natural entrepreneur. Shanna came to me afterwards with a fantastic business idea, with a clear set of aims and a target market. Shanna had a selection of fantastic, vegan faux mink lashes, in beautiful packaging and at a great price. As a lash lover myself, I can’t wait to try Shanna’s lashes and look forward to continuing to support Shanna as her business grows.”

Supporting students who are interested in starting up their own business in Barnsley, iTrust offers financial support and access to an array of information and guidance such as mentoring from experts and local businesses representatives.
