Barnsley College Higher Education Virtual Open Day for prospective undergraduates

@BarnsleyCollege Higher Education (HE) is holding a Virtual Open Day for prospective students to find out about undergraduate courses from their own home.

This event will take place on Monday 17 August with online information sessions starting at 3.00pm. Attendees can chat to tutors, find out more about a specific course and student finance and learn about the support services available at the College including the Students’ Union, the Sports Academy and Additional Learning Support.

The Information and Guidance team will also be available to discuss options for those who may be unsure which course to study.

The College offers a wide range of higher-level programmes including Foundation and Bachelor degrees, Higher Apprenticeships, HNCs, HNDs and professional business and leadership courses in a range of subjects such as Childcare, Sport, Fine Art and Popular Music.

Many courses are offered part-time, making them perfect for anyone wanting to fit study around work or family commitments.

Barnsley College was ranked as the best South Yorkshire College for overall student satisfaction in the 2019/20 Higher Education National Student Survey, with an overall student satisfaction score of 88.39%, comfortably above the national average of 82.65%.

Andrea Clarke, Director of Quality for Higher Education at Barnsley College, said:

“The Virtual Open Day is a great opportunity to find out more about the College and our undergraduate courses from the comfort of your home! Whether you want to enhance your career prospects, change career or simply learn something new, you’ll be able to chat informally to our staff and learn everything you need to know about studying with us.

“Throughout the sessions, attendees will also be able to find out more about how we’re planning to deliver courses from September. The way we adapted to online delivery during lockdown has given us a really good head start, we will continue to utilise ‘blended learning’ with students receiving a mixture of online delivery and practical, on-site taught sessions in line with the government guidelines.”
