Brockenhurst College’s ‘Unmissable’ virtual Freshers’ Week an ‘overwhelming success’

#BrockFreshers – Students joining @BrockCollege in September engaged with the College’s first ever virtual freshers’ event in droves recently.

Covid-19 restrictions meant that Brock’s annual Freshers’ Day had to be moved online and rebranded Freshers’ Week.

It ran from 25 June to 2 July across the main social media platforms and the Brock website.

Instagram alone reported 2,682 followers and 62,808 impressions.

With new information published each day, the online event gave new students all the important information they would have learned at the traditional Freshers’ Day.

Virtual tours, live Q&A sessions, a video competition, and talks by Heads of Curriculum and the Principal, racked up views and likes totalling tens of thousands.

There were also opportunities to sample courses through bite-sized lesson videos, with at least one video for each subject.

This gave viewers the chance to make sure their subject choices were suitable and/or to explore other options.

Head of Marketing and Communications, Rebekah Donawa, said:

“I’m thrilled with the levels of engagement we’ve seen for our first ever 100% online freshers’ event.

“My most sincere thanks go to all the staff who pulled together to make Freshers’ Week unmissable for new students and an overwhelming success,” she added.
