Students at Coleg Gwent’s Health Career College (@coleggwent) have benefited from some new equipment, donated by specialist medical education supplier, Adam, Rouilly.

Items include an ‘injection puncture arm’, which will help students to learn to give injections safely, along with stethoscopes and posters.

Adam, Rouilly is one of a number of businesses supporting Coleg Gwent’s Health Career College. Career Colleges work closely with employers to give young people insight into the world of work and real-life experience.

Kate Tilyard, UK Business Development at Adam, Rouilly says:

“As highlighted this year, careers in healthcare are an extremely important and vital part of our wider communities across the nation. In line with our own vision since our inception in 1918, Coleg Gwent’s Career College is performing a crucial function by training new healthcare specialists with all important real-world work experience. We hope to continue to build on our already successful partnership with the College to inspire and train the next generation of medical professionals.”

Rachel May, Director of Employer Involvement at the Career Colleges Trust, added:

“We are hugely grateful to Adam, Rouilly for both their kind donation of equipment and their wider support of Coleg Gwent and the Career College concept. Employer engagement is crucial if young people are to get a proper understanding of the real world of work. There are so many ways employers can support colleges and Adam, Rouilly is certainly supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.

“We hope that other businesses, of any size, can see the clear benefits of getting involved with Career Colleges and follow the example of Adam, Rouilly. It really is a win win for all involved and we look forward to developing this relationship over the coming year.”

Maria Johnson, Head of the School of Health and Social Care at Coleg Gwent, says:

“The Science team based at Coleg Gwent’s Torfaen Learning Zone Campus are hugely grateful to Adam, Rouilly for both their kind donation of equipment and their wider support of Coleg Gwent and the Career College concept. Our learners will greatly benefit from this kind donation and support as they strive to become the next generation of healthcare professionals.’’
